The Post Secondary Student Wellness Seminar is an opportunity for our students to engage in activities and meaningful conversation regarding health and wellbeing as indigenous students. Millbrook community strives to fully support students throughout their academic journey from the very first application to walking the stage. Please join our keynote speaker Alex Ross, recent graduate University of Toronto PhD; Sunshine Paul-Martin, community knowledge keeper, Health Centre, and Educational Services for an uplifting evening.
Rhythm of the Academic Year and the Wellness Wheel and how students can use this programming to further connect to community and resources.
Health Centre: building a bank of information for students who post questions and have you present on accessing Health Services and address the stigma of Mental Health as students mature academically. Ie. As they mature, the context in which they see their mental health related to studies and success.
Community Knowledge Keeper to talk about connection to the land, language, and culture as an integral part of balance and wellness. Indigenous approach to wellness always underlines the work we do – i.e.: Tajikeimik – to be healthy - the perspective is a whole and healthy person expressed through a sense of balance and spirit, emotion, mind, and body
