Millbrook Newsletter Goes Digital!
We’re excited to share that the Millbrook First Nation Newsletter for September-October is now available! We've officially transitioned to a completely online format. The newsletter will now be available on our website only, with the exception of printed copies that will be delivered to seniors. This change is part of our ongoing efforts to be more environmentally conscious while staying on top of current tools to make information sharing more efficient.
We kindly ask for your patience as the Millbrook communications team works through any bumps in the road during this transition. We believe this will make news in our community more accessible and shareable to all our members, as well as their families and friends near and far. Please note that the look and format newsletter may evolve as we refine this new online version.
If you would like to receive an email copy of the monthly newsletter, please email communications@millbrookfn.ca, and we will register you for November’s issue. For newsletter submissions, please send them to the same email by the 20th of each month.
If you have any questions or feedback, send us an email, and we’ll do our best to address any concerns.
Please spread the word about this new and exciting change. We look forward to continuing to share news and celebrating our community together. Wela'lioq!

2023 marked the sixth year of the Mi'kmaw Home Energy Efficiency Project (MHEEP), a transformative initiative working with 13 Mi'kmaw communities across Nova Scotia, including Millbrook First Nation.
Through this program, over 1,000 band-owned homes have received energy efficiency upgrades such as insulation, heat pumps, and draft-proofing. These enhancements have saved more than 68,500 GJ of energy and reduced greenhouse gas emissions by over 6,200 tonnes. The upgrades have not only contributed to environmental sustainability but also provided significant financial savings for residents, averaging $1,500 annually in energy bills. Millbrook First Nation has successfully enrolled over 100 homes in the project and encourages more members to participate to enjoy these benefits. Click below to read the full MHEEP annual report in English and Mi’kmaw.
